Alison C. Lee  Ph.D., C. Psych

Alison, a Registered Psychologist, is founding member and Vice President of OCFI. She has expertise in helping individuals, couples and adult families presenting with a number of different problems including relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, trauma, self esteem issues and coping with medical illness.

Known for her warm and empathic style, Alison believes in her clients' inner resources, and endeavors to help her clients to connect with their own strengths, as well as with significant people in their lives.  She uses an integrative approach based on her training in experiential, emotionally focused and cognitive-behavioural therapies.

 

Alison was a long-term member of the Marital and Family Therapy Clinic team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.  As a former Registered Nurse and Health Psychologist, she also works with couples, individuals and families dealing with illness.  Her doctoral thesis demonstrated the role of a supportive, intimate relationship in recovery from heart attack or heart surgery.

 

Alison is an EFT Trainer and Supervisor, and has also supervised numerous Psychologists during their Supervised year.  She has acted as a teacher and consultant for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and as an instructor in various training programs for medical students at the University of Ottawa.  She maintains membership in numerous professional organizaions.
