Aditi Mehra is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She holds a Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from McGill University and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Aditi works with couples, families, and individuals navigating a wide range of challenges. She is fluent in both English and Hindi and is skilled at providing culturally responsive care to clients from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, with a particular focus on the unique needs of the South Asian community.
Aditi employs an integrative therapeutic approach rooted in systemic thinking and attachment theory. This approach allows her to contextualize clients’ concerns within their broader environment while acknowledging the essential human need for connection. She has training and experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, which she utilizes to address relationship distress, attachment injuries, complex family dynamics, co-parenting conflicts, communication challenges, intimacy concerns, and life transitions, among other concerns.
Aditi prioritizes building a strong therapeutic relationship, fostering an atmosphere of safety, trust and collaboration. She believes in the inherent wisdom and resilience of each client, working together to tap into and amplify their inner strengths and resources. Aditi is attentive to pacing therapy according to the client’s comfort and readiness and encourages feedback throughout the therapeutic process to ensure that the approach aligns with the client’s goals and needs.
