Melissa Saumur is a dedicated social worker/psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in social services, including work in schools, the child welfare system, custody access evaluations, and domestic violence. With a Master’s in Social Work from Laurentian University, Melissa is deeply committed to fostering positive outcomes for individuals, couples, and families. Fluent in both French and English, she brings a unique ability to connect with a diverse clientele, including those from various ethnic, cultural, and faith backgrounds, with a particular sensitivity to the needs of the Muslim population.
Melissa’s professional journey has been marked by her capacity to assess risk, provide crisis intervention, and empower clients to overcome personal and social challenges.
In private practice since, Melissa has offered individual psychotherapy services to both individuals and couples. At the Ottawa Couple and Family Institute, Melissa looks forward to contributing her expertise and compassionate approach to support clients in navigating their challenges and fostering meaningful, positive changes in their lives.
